The Health & Bio Team Dating project is an event that aims to boost the Catalan bioentrepreneurial environment by bringing science and business together. Through brief partnering meetings, scientists and managers pool their projects and experience to form a team that will allow them to set up a successful new company.

In 2020, the 5th edition of this project held its event on November 3 in a fully online format. Despite the pandemic, this year saw record turnout, as reflected in the figures: 79 meetings scheduled, 16 projects from life sciences and healthcare research groups and 35 executives interested in contributing their expertise in business management and strategy. In addition to the speed-dating meetings, there was also an Inspirational Talk to kick off the day.

BStartup - Banc Sabadell, CataloniaBio & HealthTech and Biocat created this initiative in 2015 after detecting that “the sector needed strong companies with solid teams, both in science and in business,” noted Biocat CEO Jordi Naval in his introduction to the event.
